Session #1

"How to Mentally and Financially Prepare to be an Entrepreneur in Healthcare"

Instructors:

Taking money from someone else is a big responsibility. Is you or your company ready to do it? And do you understand what it means? Can you afford the entrepreneurial path? This session will help entrepreneurs understand their eccentricity and the eccentricity of the investors who invest in them. Specially, "The CEO Factor" is one in a series of 7 talks by Doug Humphrey, which addresses the many roles or “managerial” jobs of the CEO. This particular lesson addresses the specific challenges of dealing with really brilliant contributors. They are sometimes critical to the success of the company, often they are founders. They have "the flame" that is vital to the company, but they can require special handling and consideration in order to maximize their contribution, and the success of the company.

This course will explore the various types of "investments" that companies can obtain and how your financials, not you, determine what makes most sense. It will also provide you with valuable insight on the affect of dilutive vs non-dilutive capital on the growth of your venture and the amount of ownership you retain.
